JUNIOR REPORT

End of Season Junior Rankings

Congratulations to Craig, James, Adam and Rachel who have all improved their rankings going into the start of the 2009/10 season

Craig – 93rd in Junior Boys (425th at start of season)

James – 284th in Junior Boys (no ranking at start of season)

Adam – 431st in Junior Boys and 167th in Cadets (686th at start of season)

Rachel – 11th in Junior Girls (15th at start of season)

Excellent performances from them all and hopefully they will carry on progressing this season.

Also a new group of youngsters are coming through – Luke, Nick, Daniel, Liam, Marc, Chris, Ross, Clayton and Connor.

We have high hopes for all these and they should soon start working their way up the rankings once they start entering competitions and playing in the National Junior and Cadet Leagues.

Wigan Juniors go from strength to strength, with Rachel in the top 15 girls in the country, Craig in the top 100 cadets and top 300 juniors, James, top 400 juniors and Adam, Top 70 U13’s, top 300 cadets – these are from over 1200 players, so all of them are progressing very well.

.Last Season the Junior Team were winners of the 2nd Division of the Lancs/Cheshire league and are now promoted to the First Division – well done to Craig, Luke, Dom, James and Adam.

Apart from the Lancs/Cheshire league we are going to hopefully enter teams into the National Cadet League and National Junior League next season – the players are really committed to training, which should stand them in good stead once the Season starts.

We would like to expand the Junior section, particularly with both Boy and Girl players in Years 6, 7 and 8, 9 (although any U17’s can join in) so if anyone is interested please contact either Steve or Paul and arrange to come down to our weekly coaching sessions, It’s a great opportunity to progress your game.
